What videos would be useful?

It's not something within my skillset and probably beyond most non-hypnotists.

It's most impressive to witness a skilled operator simply verbally describe and bring to attention different aspects of the ongoing experiene by pacing reality all the way inside somewhere else.

By somewhere else I mean somewhere very specific for the subject.

A formal 5-4-3-2-1 going extenal to internal visually, auditarilly and feeling would be a rather direct form of hypnotic induction.

Erickson would often point out the fact that there is a chair in the corner, "quite a comfortable chair in fact," and that it makes quite a different distict sound to the clock ticking on the shelf. The one with the spinning hand.

Perhaps someone gets the picture.

Translating Hypnotic Language

Hi Barry,

I have read patterns 1.

I have learned about presuppositions in a way that what is presupposed is also explicit in the form of the sentence and presupposed as an indirect structurevwithin the sentence.

For example: "There is a cool drink at the end of the line."

Do you have any enlightening examples?

Hi Don,

That was quite frightful.

Hi Graham,

Is framing a part of the milton patterns ?

Do they need to associate ?

Translating Hypnotic Language

Hi All,

"You're listening to the sound of my voice which makes you aware of the temperature of the air because you can begin to notice your breathing, and as you become more aware of your breathe in after your breathing out momentarily, now you might know a particular delightful memory that makes you smile and feel good, about that."

That's  right!!!

But how do you use hypnotic language in 'normal' conversation ?

I mean, how do I learn to practice hypnotic language without making it obvious ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Don,

I see where you are coming from and rightly so.

To make useful pigeonholes of everyone would be much too complex, one would probably want a more sortable or useful system of categorization.

In the context of the personality of an individual or group, there might be some usefulness for the huge number of therapists, profilers, headhunters, Nlp geeks, Human Resource Administrators and others who effectively use some variation of them.

Any classification in the Meyers Briggs test is not inherently right or wrong, good or bad. Until one applies it to a context, then, it might be useful.

To quantify the plausibility of a level of aptitude toward a specific behavioural response  in context could be a useful measurement to calibrate in certain formulas when forcasting likely performance.

But, alas, my point was that their consensus is that personality is fixed and can't be changed.

Maybe that's the truth.

I have bee n  meditating with myselves  in parallel Multiverses, so donut put the blame on me :)

Warm Regards

Looking for hypnosis practice partners on Skype

Roderick, is it true that all communication affects people and the way it affects them depends on the state they are in?

Amnesia never works on me.

Can hypnosis be used for sleep?

Perhaps I have a different idea about hypnosis and perception filters.

I have to be right about something, don't I?

Ok Roderick.

Perhaps iv enough rapport is established but people could never go beyond a waking state through the knternet.

You can't hypnotize people though the internet.

Who told you that?

 Hey Don

'The only way you rain on my parade is if we agree. Perhaps you misunderstood the question or my statement was about the Meyers Briggs psychological categories (generalizations.)

The (the two housewives) believed that their 'discovery' of the Meyers Briggs psychological categories were fixed categories of human personality which could not be changed. Whereas, all the whiches here know damn well they can be changed. (with the possible exeption of Barry)

Comparing it to a horoscope, seriously?

I think it is very useful and pidgen hole-in in profiling. Even Nlp uses something similar, although simpler, in their psuedo-science technology.

Besides that, we should be in agreement.

Aspirin or Hypnosis?

If someone has a generally estatic mood in direction and their attention is continually drawn to something physical which amplifies that repetitively, then they might perhaps get the state they are entraining themselves toward.

It can be the same with geeks and chess because fractionation means amplification and if there is an associated delightful physical intensification, that may be irresistible.

Of course, the same principle can work both ways.

Therefore, anything that interupts the physical response could reduce undesired symptoms.
