Just like Roy, I have both business and professional insurance. Recently, I did a big outdoor event for a major employer in my city. They had 2,000 guests. Although they are well insured they asked me to provide my own proof of insurances. If they are referring their valued employees, they want to make certain I value my business enough to have it covered, too.
My younger sister is a very special adult. A few years ago she needed to have 7 teeth extracted and was well known at the dental office for being a screamer and a wiggler. She was always like a deer in the headlights and the dental instruments approaching her mouth terrified her.
She operates with the emotions of a 3/4 year old and the educational level of a 6/7 year old. I did formal trance with her where I taught her to focus on her breathing and then to let herself get very loose limp and relaxed. (She calls this part getting all wooey-wooey). The suggestions all related to her most favorite thing in the world - horses. During the procedure she had her eyes closed and spent the time with horses. The dentist couldn't believe that he was able to do all the work in 35 minutes rather than the several hours he booked into his calendar.
Barry is right that our special needs loved ones are nearly always in a trance state. With your client, find out what he loves the most - what rocks his boat. He will probably be very good at creating imagery around his most favorite things. Take those into the session and as Barry said, test over and over. Your client will most likely get it all very quickly and be able to have the fun and joy of success.
Thanks for the heads up on the Viator Shuttle. Great round trip price.
You should hear Michelle Matteson talk about the hypnotic world of hairdressing. I heard her speak at the Heartland Hypnosis Conference this past May. She had incredible insight into the close connection between the worlds of beauty and hypnosis:
This was great. Watched it twice and loved the variety of techniques and they way you wove them together. Inspirational.

I just changed the way my web guy had it password protected via WordPress, to using the password protection from Vimeo (that's probably more technical information than anyone needs) and hopefully it's much less glitchy that way.
The password is still the same:
Hope it works for you now and I've managed to exorcise all of the holiday gremlins...

I've exorcised the Technology Demons...
Let me know.
Yes, there are some very fine hypnotists in this part of the country. I'm in Springfield and I believe that Adrian has already posted - he's nearby in Kansas. Also, not on this board but in the KC area are Chastain Phillips and Harley Sears - both really nice people. There is a woman, Linda Gentry, who used to run the NGH and IMDHA monthly meetup in the KC area. She retired. I use to drive 3 hours each way to get to those. Since they no longer seem to be happening, I recently spoke with Adrian about perhaps getting a meetup going in SW MO or Eastern OK. Stay in touch from time to time. Maybe we'll get something going soon.
Also, you might consider taking your continuing hours in person at a hypnotherapy school. I believe that John Brochu near Fayetteville is beginning a live class soon. There is nothing like being in class and hypnotizing and getting hypnotized multiple times a day.
Also, if you need to, have a session with someone to help you move beyond some of your beliefs.
Best of success as you become a part of this exciting occupation.
Will Horton also has a program on addiction. He is very open about his own trouble with alcohol in the past. He has some very workable ideas and approaches.
I think it helps expectant mom's to read the Mongan method book but I hated the CD in it. Check out the Bliss Born program - I think it is the best out there right now :http://blissbornonline.com/. The developers, Shelley and Laura are exceptional hypnotherapists and did a great job with the program.
Other programs to check out are Hypnobabies, Hypnobirthing, Hypnobeginnings (developed by an MD who personally delivered over 2500 babies and uses hypnosis with her patients).
Most of the programs meet with the moms and their birth partners 4 to 6 times beginning 6 to 8 weeks prior to the due date. Classes are usually 2 hours long and the moms are expected to practice self hypnosis several time a day are part of their homework.
I very much liked James Schwartz's book: The Mind-Body Fertility Connection. Here is a link to it:http://www.amazon.com/The-Mind-Body-Fertility-Connection-Conception/dp/0738713767/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1358897241&sr=8-3&keywords=schwartz+fertility
From this book, I was able to put together powerful hypnosis sessions for clients with fertility issues.
